Overview
This is a permanent full-time teaching position commencing Term 3, 2026 at Byford Secondary College (SC) in Perth's southern suburbs. Byford SC is a newer school offering high quality teaching and learning programs for students in Years 7–12, with facilities and resources to support staff and students. The college emphasizes differentiated delivery to meet the needs of every student and supports pathways planning and review to help students achieve their post-school aspirations.
Responsibilities
* Teach English to secondary students, including senior school subjects and an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course where appropriate.
* Contribute actively to the English Learning Area and reflect on practice to support professional growth and improved student outcomes.
* Utilize high-impact learning strategies to engage students in English and differentiate curriculum to support high and low performing students.
* Build positive relationships with students and support a positive, inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development and aspirant leadership opportunities as part of staff support programs.
Qualifications
* Sound understanding of the West Australian English curriculum.
* Experience or capacity to teach Senior School English, including ATAR-level coursework if applicable.
* Ability to differentiate instruction and implement innovative approaches to improve outcomes for diverse learners.
