We are looking for an up-and-coming people leader to coach, inspire and lead the teams!

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an inspiring and strategically minded leader to take responsibility for driving performance, culture, and operational excellence at our Cook and Phillip Park Aquatic and fitness centre. We're seeking a hands‐on Centre Manager who thrives in leading teams, shaping customer experience, and guiding a complex facility to success in a full‐time capacity.

As the leader of the Centre, you will hold full accountability for its operational performance, community impact, financial outcomes, and program delivery. You will drive the Centre's ongoing growth, service excellence, and overall success.

Key Accountabilities
* Provide visible, hands‐on leadership to build a high performance, community‐focused culture across the Centre.
* Coach and develop leaders to deliver strong operational outcomes through effective engagement, KPI alignment, and performance planning.
* Ensure a safe, well managed environment by overseeing robust policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
* Drive financial performance by achieving budgeted targets and making informed, strategic operational decisions.
* Foster a strong, collaborative partnership with the local Council to support shared objectives and community outcomes.
* Recruit, develop, and empower a diverse, customer-focused team aligned with the Centre's vision and service standards.
About You

You are an experienced people leader who brings strong operational awareness from a leisure, community, service, or similarly customer‐focused environment. You've led teams through clear expectations, coaching, and accountability, and you understand how engaged employees drive stronger customer experience and commercial results. You're confident operating within structured safety, risk, or compliance frameworks and can adapt that experience to an aquatic and fitness setting. Above all, you're motivated by creating positive community outcomes and guiding a team to deliver a safe, welcoming, and high performing Centre.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
* A minimum 2 years' experience in managing large teams in a relevant industry
* Highly developed communication skills with a flair for positive influencing and negotiating win‐win outcomes
* Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation
* Experience in planning and execution of operational, financial and people plans to successful outcomes
* Ability to obtain: First Aid Certificates, WWCC and Police Check
