Palliative Care Nurse Opportunity
Mater Private Hospital Mackay is seeking an experienced Palliative Care Nurse to join the ward on a permanent, part-time basis.
The nursing team provides specialist care to patients, their families, carers, and visitors. The team works together as a cohesive unit, delivering exceptional care and clinical standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing palliative care, including symptom and pain management, and end-of-life care.
* Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments of patients.
* Completing PCOC assessments.
* Implementing evidence-based nursing interventions.
* Providing exceptional clinical expertise and patient care.
* Integrating quality and risk management into service provision.
* Maintaining infection control policies and practices.
Candidates will have:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions).
* Recent nursing experience in a medical ward setting.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and clinical problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles.
Preferred qualifications include experience with CADD pumps & Syringe Drivers and openness to undergoing palliative care training.
