The role
We're looking for a proactive, people-focused Fitness Centre Manager to lead Uni Fitness at Griffith University's Gold Coast campus.
This role combines hands-on leadership, operational excellence and commercial acumen to deliver a safe, inclusive and student-centred fitness experience.
You'll lead a dynamic team, drive engagement and growth, and play a key role in shaping a vibrant campus fitness culture aligned with the Student Guild's values.
The position attracts a salary of between $82,488- $94,272 plus 12% superannuation and this is a full-time role.
About the Student Guild
The Griffith University Gold Coast (GUGC) Student Guild is an independent, not-for-profit student association representing and supporting more than 17,000 students.
We work closely with Griffith University and community partners to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive campus experience.
The Guild has three divisions – Student Services, Business Services, and Commercial Services – led by our Chief Executive Officer and governed by a hybrid Board of elected student representatives and external skills-based members.
Our purpose is simple: to support students and enhance student life.

This position sits within Commercial Services which support students to thrive on campus, provides convenient services to the University and surrounding community, and supports the financial sustainability of the Guild.
Commercial Services include the Uni Bar, Functions & Catering, The Uni Store, Uni Fitness, Australia Post, The Kiosk café, and a range of food and retail tenancies.

Selection criteria
A minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Fitness and Senior First Aid Certificate.
A tertiary qualification in management or related qualification and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role managing a fitness, sport, or leisure facility.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the fitness industry, including fitness programs and member management.
Demonstrated competency with personnel and financial management.
Demonstrated capacity to deliver high level and personalised customer service based on client needs.
Understanding of fitness industry legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience working within a university, community, or not-for-profit setting.
