How does the programme work?
Diageo invites graduates to join our 3-year rotational Graduate Programme, where you'll have the opportunity to specialise in one of the key areas: Operations, Procurement, Sustainability, Global Engineering, Technical, or Planning & Logistics. As a participant in our Graduate Programme, you will embark on an exciting journey tailored to your academic background and personal interests. During the recruitment process, you will be asked to express your preferences for an area of interest in the key areas. This information, combined with your academic background, will determine the specific learning path you will follow over the next three years.
You could be working in:
* Operations
o Here you’ll be responsible for ensuring our products are made to the highest standards and in the most efficient way. You will be at the heart of our operations, building your leadership skills from the engine room of our business. Throughout the 3-year programme, graduates can expect to rotate through various roles to gain a comprehensive understanding of our manufacturing operations, and possible rotations include; Process Improvement Lead, Business Leader, and Team Leader. For the Operations path, we are particularly interested in graduates with degrees in Operations Management, Business, STEM and Brewing & Distilling
* Planning and Logistics
o In Planning & Logistics, you'll drive agility into our end-to-end global supply chain, ensuring best-in-class service to our customers, channels, and markets. Using data-driven insights and state-of-the-art digital technology, you will manage products and materials across our supply chain to meet customer needs. Typical roles include Business Planning Analyst, Supply Chain Planner, and Logistics Project Manager. We are keen to hear from you if you have a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics & Transportation, Operations Management, or Digital Transformation.
* Procurement
o As part of the Procurement team, you'll help us maximise the £5 billion+ we spend every year so that our business, employees, and iconic brands can continue to thrive. You'll help build brands of premium quality, whilst creating sustainable value and growth. With teams around the globe, there are immense opportunities to work across both functions and regions. You'll learn, develop, and make your mark in the industry. You'll have the opportunity to build and protect Diageo's reputation across our supply base, ensuring we have services, partnerships, and products that meet our needs today and tomorrow. Typical roles could include but are not limited to; Global Procurement Specialist, and Category Market Specialist in Packaging, Manufacturing, or Sustainability to name a few. For the Procurement path, we are particularly interested in Business degrees.
* Sustainability
o At Diageo, we’re committed to preserving the natural resources on which we all depend. In our 10-year action plan, Spirit of Progress, we have set ambitious targets for creating a more sustainable world by tackling climate change, water stress, and biodiversity loss. You will work with our whole value chain – the people, resources, and environment that contribute to our success, from grain to glass. Typical roles could include but are not limited to; Sustainable Solutions Lead and Water Carbon Co-Ordinator. We would particularly love to hear from you if you have a degree in STEM-related subjects as well as Environmental Science or Environmental Sustainability.
* Technical
o In our technical teams, you’ll work with specialists in brand change, science and technology, safety, quality, environmental sustainability, and governance to ensure we innovate and grow while protecting our people, brands, and the environment. You'll develop tomorrow's product pipelines for some of the world's most loved brands, such as Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Captain Morgan, Baileys, and Tanqueray. Translating insights, ideas, and visions, you'll shape the future of our brands, putting them at the heart of celebrations everywhere. Typical roles could include but are not limited to; Laboratory Technologists, (Sustainability) Pack Specialist, or Process Development Technologist. We are eager to hear from you if you have a degree in fields such as STEM or a related discipline including Food Science, Environmental Science, and Environmental Sustainability as well as Brewing & Distilling and Project Management. * Global Engineering
o You’ll have the opportunity to work at the heart of an enormous global manufacturing operation where you will get the chance to work on industry-leading technology projects and, of course, help us shape the future! As an Engineer in our talented team, you could be working on anything from managing global capex projects to ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective maintenance and repair, problem-solving, and improvement of assets and their availability across our international sites. Typical roles could include but are not limited to a project Engineer working on a project such as Sustainability, Digital, or Automation or working alongside our Project Manager in our multi-million Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects. For the Global Engineering path, relevant degrees for this career may include STEM, in particular Engineering or related fields.
Over the three-year rotational programme, you’ll have a combination of formal training with a leadership curriculum, mentoring and coaching from respected colleagues, and, most importantly, real-world, on-the-job experience. From the beginning, you’ll be working on projects that will develop and improve your skill set. You’ll be able to make a real contribution to the business while building a global network of relationships that will support your career, both now and long into the future.

Who are we looking for?
On the qualification side, you’ll need to have acquired or be expecting to acquire an academic degree, graduating by August 2025 or within the last 5 years, with a degree relevant to one of the specialisms above for example disciplines such as STEM or business-related fields are desirable.
With opportunities across Europe, your rotation could see you placed in some of our amazing locations from Dublin to Glasgow, Elgin to Amsterdam, or London to Edinburgh, therefore for our graduate opportunities, you must be mobile and prepared to relocate geographically during the programme as well as being proficient in English.
You’ll need to be a curious, flexible, self-motivated team player who loves to turn ideas into action and someone who shows integrity, respect for others, and, above all, a passion for learning something new every day.
