Opportunity
This four year heavy vehicle mechanic apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to become a qualified professional and obtain a nationally recognised trade qualification, commencing January 2026 on a term contract, full-time basis. In the first three years you will receive on-the-job training; the fourth year is purely practical. You will undertake a structured learning journey toward the Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, with support from qualified tradespeople. Salaries and conditions are in accordance with the Blacktown City Council Enterprise Agreement.
Who Can Apply
- Applicants must be at least 15 years of age or older
- No longer at school or home-schooled
- If currently enrolled, must have:
- Completed year 9 or equivalent
- Written approval to proceed from a school principal or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or an authorised person
- No experience required
- Ability to obtain a class C driver’s licence when able to
- Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia (evidence required)
