About the role
Australian Infrastructure Group is seeking an experienced Leading Hand / Pipe Layer to join our team in Brisbane, Queensland. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of construction workers, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards and within tight timelines.
What you'll be doing
* Supervising and guiding a team of construction workers to complete pipe laying and other civil construction tasks
* Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations on site
* Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to guide the team's work
* Monitoring and reporting on progress, identifying and resolving any issues or delays
* Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to less experienced team members
* Liaising with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to coordinate activities
What we're looking for
* Several years of experience as a Leading Hand or Foreperson in civil construction, with a strong background in pipe laying
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
* Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials and equipment
* Sound knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
* Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Relevant trade qualifications or certificates
