Babcock is a leading aerospace and defence company that has been trusted to deliver bespoke engineering services for over a century.

We operate across sectors such as defence, commercial marine, aviation, airports, communications, emergency services and engineering consultancy.

This role offers the chance to play a key role in supporting two Defence contracts within our Land Domain, operating in highly regulated environments.

You will work closely with the HSE Manager to embed health, safety, and environmental best practices across personnel, contractors, and stakeholders.

Your expertise will be vital in ensuring compliance with regulations while fostering an environment of learning, accountability, and risk awareness.

Beyond core HSE responsibilities, you will provide tailored support to the ADF Ground Support Equipment (ADFGSE) and Counter, Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) contract teams.

You will need to have a strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.

Proficiency in root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies, as well as competent use of HSEQ management systems, is also essential.

In this role, you will champion a positive safety culture, leading toolbox talks and initiatives that drive engagement and continuous improvement.

Your ability to work collaboratively with Program Managers and stakeholders will ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance are met.

To be successful, you must:

* Be an Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
* AQF Level 4 Qualification or Equivalent in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Risk Management or a transferable engineering-related qualification.
* Have a strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
* Be proficient in root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies.
* Be competent in using HSEQ management systems.
