The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is seeking an experienced Cyber Assessment and Advice leader to support the Tribunal in a Cyber Security advisory, assessment and assurance capacity within the Enterprise Technology Group (ETG) branch.
The team is supportive and outcomes focused with four team members dedicated to Cyber Security Operations, working flexibly across Australia with options to work from the office, in a hybrid arrangement or remotely. Work is planned using agile approaches such as Scrum and Scrumban.
This exciting, ongoing, hybrid role can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney.
Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is EL1 $121,755 - $143,202 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Technology Security, Risk and Assurance, you will be responsible for providing information and security advice, services, compliance and assurance activities to support achievement of the Tribunals corporate plan and cyber security strategy. The role works closely with the architecture team in the procurement, development and operation of new products, services, projects and programs. Ensuring principles are followed, security testing is applied, risks and compliance are continuously evaluated, reported and managed.
As Assistant Director Cyber Assessment and Advice, you will provide clear, balanced and pragmatic cyber security advice to internal stakeholders and play a key role in aligning business technology solutions with ART and whole of government security and risk management frameworks. You will lead security assessment and assurance activities and contribute to the development of consistent security architecture patterns across multiple concurrent initiatives.
In this role you will develop and maintain high quality security artefacts that support the integrity, resilience and continuous improvement of the Tribunals technology environment. As a trusted advisor, you will assess proposed solutions and third‐party technologies to ensure they are safe, secure and fit for purpose. You will also work at the intersection of technology, privacy and security, embedding strong cyber hygiene practices into business and technology design through early engagement, guidance and education.
About you
* Strong curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies and able to apply this knowledge pragmatically to enable secure business outcomes
* Ability to comfortably work across Microsoft cloud technologies including Entra, Dynamics 365, Defender, Copilot, Fabric and Azure services
* Ability to apply traditional security and risk management frameworks to modern cloud‐based architectures and understand how contemporary design patterns can reduce risk while improving business flexibility
* Strong analytical and reasoning skills, with the ability to translate complex technical risks into clear and meaningful business advice
* Ability to work autonomously, ask thoughtful questions and consistently challenge the status quo to improve outcomes without compromising security posture
* Understanding of how to apply Australian Government cyber security frameworks, privacy legislation, AI governance and enterprise risk management practices
Qualifications
* Academic or Vocational certification in Technology and/or appropriate industry best practice standards and frameworks with specialisation in cyber security (e.g. CISM, CISSP, CCSP, CISA, GIAC)
* Vocational certification in modern software development lifecycle methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, XP, SAFe
* Vocational certification in modern design and governance frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT or SABSA
* Requirement to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and complete a health declaration
* Security Clearance – Have or be eligible to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance
