Overview
Lead and manage the Haematology and Coagulation sections within the Diagnostic Laboratory Service. Provide high‑quality diagnostic testing and scientific leadership.
Responsibilities
* Oversee day‑day operations of the Haematology and Coagulation sections, coordinating work of professional and technical staff.
* Work independently under general supervision to solve complex technical problems.
* Demonstrate competent technical skill, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and troubleshooting of standard diagnostic procedures.
* Assume delegated responsibilities and act as deputy in the Medical Scientist in Charge's absence.
* Balance management duties and scientific duties in equal proportion; previous management experience advantageous.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
* Eligibility for membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists).
* Desirable: professional/fellowship membership, experience in laboratory management.
Salary & Benefits
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum (pro rata). 12% superannuation contribution. Additional allowances include Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum.
