Toogoolawah State High School has a vacancy for an Agricultural Assistant.The Agricultural Assistant will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day tasks, primarily providing practical support to teachers during Agricultural Science classes.The position will commence on 4 August 2025 and continue until 23 February 2026, unless otherwise determined.This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Our students are encouraged to strive for excellence and approach their future with confidence and purpose.About The RoleAs the Agricultural Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Preparation of all agricultural field sites and agricultural machinery, equipment and materials.Planting, watering and care of crops and market gardens and related duties including regular physical maintenance and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary.Care and feeding of animals, cleaning cages and pens and related duties.Take simple measurements, for example, weighing crop yields.Order and/or collect general agricultural supplies and materials as authorised by the Head of Department, Principal or nominated delegate.Animal husbandry, crop and soil improvement and enhancement activities.Other relevant agricultural duties as directed by the Head of Department, Principal or nominated delegate.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
