Technical Officer – A Key Role in Transport Planning
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Technical Officer to join our team and play an important role in shaping the infrastructure that keeps our community moving.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical expertise to assist with a wide range of activities and advice relating to transport planning. You will provide technical and administrative support across a range of transport-related activities, helping to ensure that works within the road reserve are planned, approved, and delivered to the highest standards.
The Key Responsibilities:
* Review, assess, and process applications and inspect works carried out by others in the road reserve.
* Liaise with government agencies, consultants, contractors, and the public on matters relating to road reserve activities.
* Liaise with members of the public, as required, to investigate customer requests, and provide information in relation to the status and/or conclusion of customer service requests for various transport and drainage issues.
* Investigate and prepare responses to enquiries and information requests in regards to Heavy Vehicle Regulation permits and works by utilities such as Ergon and Telstra.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in municipal infrastructure design, construction, or maintenance. You should also have a current Construction Industry Induction (White Card) and a valid driver's licence.
You will need to demonstrate strong knowledge of engineering standards, work practices, and technical guidelines relevant to transport planning and construction. Additionally, you should have a sound understanding of Rural and Urban Addressing and standards for Gates and Grids.
