Troocoo are working with Queensland Government on the recruitment of an AO4 Communications and Correspondence Officer to join the team on the Sunshine Coast. This is a contract role commencing in June 2025 and going through to May 2026 with potential extensions.
In the role of Communications Officer, you will actively participate as a member of the Stakeholder Management Business Unit in the Stakeholder and Issues Management Team. The core responsibilities include researching and drafting responses to ministerial and executive correspondence. This is a writing-focused position, requiring exceptional skills in written communication, customer management, and relationship building. Successful candidates will advise on, develop, implement, and provide communication services primarily for executive correspondence, issues management, stakeholder relationship management, media relations, and community engagement to ensure effective outcomes for the North Coast Region.
Accountabilities of this role include:
1. Providing well-considered, accurate, and timely communication advice and support to regional staff using appropriate tools.
2. Coordinating, researching, drafting, and editing communication materials such as responses to ministerial and executive correspondence, briefing notes, media statements, responses to media inquiries, speech notes, parliamentary business, online engagement, newsletters, and other non-project related materials for the Minister’s office and senior management.
3. Undertaking community engagement and stakeholder consultation activities during project development and delivery, as required.
4. Updating regional webpage content to ensure relevance to projects and initiatives.
5. Providing training, advice, and support to regional staff and consultants to ensure consistency, enhance communication skills, and improve stakeholder and community relationships in delivering non-project initiatives.
This role reports to the Senior Communications Advisor. To be considered, candidates should have experience in developing communications and executive correspondence within government or regulated environments. Solutions-focused, team-oriented candidates who can "hit the ground running" are preferred. Experience in infrastructure communications and engagement is highly advantageous.
The current pay scale for an AO4 is as follows, based on experience and suitability:
* AO4.1 - $58.02 per hour
* AO4.2 - $59.84 per hour
* AO4.3 - $61.76 per hour
* AO4.4 - $63.69 per hour
* Plus superannuation.
