Overview
A rare opportunity exists for a strategic facilities and asset management leader to join a nationally significant organisation responsible for a large and complex property and infrastructure portfolio.
This role will lead the strategic direction, governance and performance of engineering and asset management nationally, with a strong focus on systems implementation, operational transformation and integrated facilities management oversight.
The organisation is embarking on a significant modernisation and optimisation program, requiring a leader capable of strengthening asset management frameworks, embedding best-practice processes, and ensuring the integrated FM provider delivers to the highest standards.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the executive team, the Strategic Facilities & Asset Manager will provide strategic leadership across engineering, facilities, technical services and asset performance.
The role will drive the development and implementation of a national asset management strategy, improve lifecycle planning and capital investment frameworks, and enhance operational performance across a multi-site portfolio.
A key component of the role will be working closely with the integrated facilities management partner, ensuring strong governance, performance management and alignment with organisational objectives.
This is both a strategic and transformational role, suited to a leader who is comfortable operating across executive stakeholders, operational teams, and service providers.
Key Focus Areas
* Development and execution of the national asset management, engineering and facilities strategy
* Review and implementation of asset management systems, reporting frameworks and operational processes
* Governance and performance management of the integrated facilities management provider
* Review and update compliance frameworks and risk management
* Driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency and asset performance
* Strategic stakeholder engagement across executive leadership and operational teams
* Leading organisational change and capability uplift within a small team of direct reports.
Your Attributes and Skillsets
We are seeking a commercially astute facilities, engineering or asset management professional with significant experience managing complex portfolios and leading technical teams. Exposure to sectors such as education, health, airports, sporting venues and data centres is warmly received.
You will bring
* Extensive experience in engineering, technical services, facilities or asset management leadership roles
* Proven experience managing large multi-site property or critical infrastructure portfolios
* Experience overseeing integrated facilities management contracts and service delivery
* Demonstrated capability in implementing asset management systems, frameworks and governance modelsStrong understanding of building services, critical infrastructure and compliance environments
* A track record of driving organisational change, transformation and operational improvement
* Exceptional stakeholder management and leadership capability
