Offer description

Canberra Montessori School is seeking a dynamic and caring OSHC Coordinator to lead our Outside School Hours Care and Holiday Programs.

As the OSHC Coordinator, you'll be responsible for the smooth and engaging delivery of our Before & After School Care and School Holiday Programs. Our programs support children aged 3–12, offering a balance of structured activities and self-directed play that nurture creativity, independence, and wellbeing.

A current Working with Vulnerable People check is required for this position.

This role is about more than supervision, it's about building genuine relationships with children and families, guiding a dedicated team of educators, and ensuring our program reflects the needs of our community.

The position is part-time, with hours Monday to Friday from 2:00pm–6:00pm, and longer hours during school holidays. A full-time role is negotiable for the right person.

What you'll do

* Plan and deliver high-quality, child-led programs that encourage independence, resilience, and joy.
* Create an inviting environment that supports children's physical, emotional, and social development.
* Lead, mentor, and support educators to bring programs to life.
* Develop exciting and varied holiday programs, including excursions and incursions.
* Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in your care.
* Build strong connections with families, fostering a welcoming and inclusive community.
* Work in alignment with National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework and our school values.

About you

We'd love to hear from you if you bring:

* Experience in leading or coordinating OSHC or similar programs, including with diverse age groups and additional needs.
* A minimum of 6-12 months experience in OSHC or childcare programs is required.
* A solid understanding of child development and different learning styles.
* A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is required for this role.
* Familiarity with National Quality Standards and frameworks.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to develop warm, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff.
* A creative, organised, and flexible approach — with a focus on making each day engaging and fun.
* Previous team leadership or supervisory experience is preferred but not essential.

Why join us?

At Canberra Montessori School, you'll be part of a supportive and passionate team who believe in helping every child discover their unique potential. You'll enjoy:

* Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
* Being part of a close-knit community where your ideas and initiatives are valued
* The chance to lead programs in a beautiful natural environment that inspires curiosity and creativity
