The Utilityperson - Electrical is responsible for all aspects of the major works throughout the country on Caterpillar, Jenbacher Gas & Diesel engines located at various sites around Australia.
Key Areas of Responsibility
* Working on Caterpillar, Jenbacher gas engines.
* Operations coverage.
* Assessing parts for reuse and reconditioning engines and other equipment.
* Supervising apprentices in training and teaching correct work practices.
* Testing engines on completion of overhaul;
* Module maintenance and repairs.
* Involved in removal and installation of engines onsite
* General housekeeping responsibilities;
* Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations;
* Support and comply with Company Policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company's employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors; and
* Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required.
* Maintain the safety culture to a high standard.
* Mentoring / training apprentices.
* Travel to sites around Australia to undergo breakdown activities.
* Supporting operation in GEMs and shutdowns.

Qualifications and Experience
* Trade certificate in a Fitting/Plant Electrical trade essential
* Experience in diesel/gas engine repair/reconditioning highly desirable
* Experience in Caterpillar, Jenbacher, or any large capacity engines highly desirable
* Basic computer skills are desirable.
