Environmental Conditions
Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards. Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc. allowed. Laboratory setting, office, with some PPE (personal protective equipment) required such as safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.

Location/Division Specific Information
This role is onsite at our Brisbane site in Woolloongabba, focusing on manufacturing products for clinical trials and commercial applications. The Bioprocess Scientist will focus on assessing the impact of various factors on product quality, yield, EH&S, and cGMP compliance.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated USP Bioprocess Scientist II to join our manufacturing team. This position offers an opportunity to implement innovative biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Entry-level candidates with some industry experience are encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
* Operate USP unit operations and equipment within a GMP environment.
* Follow production protocols and schedules in a clean room environment under cGMP conditions.
* Review, revise, and author manufacturing batch records and material reconciliation.
* Adhere to all GMP and EH&S requirements.
* Lead deviation investigations and support process improvements.
* Support department functions including maintaining equipment, logbooks, and data compliance.
* Review and write GMP documentation.
* Liaise with suppliers on technical issues.
* Perform additional operational tasks as required.
* Participate in shift, on-call, and weekend work with appropriate remuneration.
* Ensure a safe workplace by adhering to EH&S processes and reporting hazards.
Keys to Success
Education
* Preferably a tertiary degree in science or engineering related to biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or process technology.
Skills & Experience
* At least 1 year of industry experience in bio/pharmaceutical fields.
* Knowledge of cGMP environment is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with Wave Bioreactors and cell culture is advantageous but not essential.
