Primary objective
Provide strategic coordination of child and youth related programs and services, working in partnership with Northern Territory
Government agencies, local government and non-government organisations to support collaborative approaches, programs and services.

Context statement
The Regional Youth Programs Coordinator will work collaboratively with regional teams from NTG and other regional government and
non-government stakeholders, including local government, to support the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of youth
services and other identified regional and place-based priorities for children, young people and families.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Support the development of whole government planning, coordination and monitoring of youth service delivery, and other related

services that support families and children.
2. Support and enable service collaboration, coordination and partnerships across our youth, non-government and government sectors.
3. Stimulate and guide the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on a range of government and place-

based youth initiatives.
4. Support community-based co-design and delivery of youth services between NTG agencies, local government, non-government

organisations, businesses, and the community, including services that support children and young people during school holidays.
5. Develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships, networks, and strategic alliances with NTG agencies, local government,

non-government organisations, business and community.
6. Lead the development of mapping and planning documents with outcome measures to align with government policies, agency strategic

directions, environmental changes and client needs as they relate to the region.
7. Administer the After-Hours Core Youth Services Fund and the Regional Youth Activity Grants through the GrantsNT system.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of community-based programs, ideally with an emphasis on young

people and/or families.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with people of diverse cultures, social, professional and business

backgrounds as well as the ability to articulate ideas both orally and in writing (including development of ministerial briefings, reports
and submissions).

3. Demonstrated stakeholder management experience, grant administration and contract management skills, working collaboratively
across government and non-government sectors.

4. High level organisational skills and extensive knowledge and experience in project management with demonstrated ability to meet key
milestones and timelines.

5. Demonstrated experience working within the principles of community engagement and implementing good governance/capacity
building processes.

6. High level strategic planning, project management, policy development and implementation skills, and the ability to see projects
through to completion to achieve quality outcomes.

7. Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures, particularly Aboriginal people.

Desirable
1. Relevant qualifications in project management or human services.
2. Experience working with the youth services sector.
