Location: Devonport (Quoiba), TAS
Hours: Full time: Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Office-based Rate: $31.34 per hour + $36.26 afternoon shift allowance
A new role to support new customer schedules, we're looking for a Freight Clerk to join our team and support southbound and northbound freight across the Bass Strait. This is a fast‑paced, high‑pressure role where you'll manage trailers, containers, and freight moving in and out of Tasmania.
You'll be the key link between customers, drivers, and internal teams, ensuring schedules run smoothly, freight is handled accurately and be a key supporting hand between our Devonport and Melbourne DCs.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate freight movements across Bass Strait
* Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders (customers, drivers and operations teams)
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
* Manage documentation and system updates accurately
* Support new customer schedules and operational requirements
What We're Looking For
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – a true people person
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
* System savvy – experience with freight systems is a bonus
* Knowledge of Freight2020 is highly desirable
* Team player with a proactive attitude
* Previous experience in freight or logistics is an advantage
* Customer service experience
