Job Summary
This is for a Permanent or Fixed term full‐time appointment with the possibility of extension(s) or permanency. Part‐time appointments may be considered.
An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Manager to join the Midwest Maternity Department in Geraldton.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
* Specialist knowledge and experience relevant to the management of Maternal and Newborn Services, including the effective management of financial, staffing and clinical resources.
* Ability to provide leadership and, in particular, facilitate complex change‐management processes.
* Verbal, written, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to liaise and consult with people in a variety of contexts.
* Conceptual, analytical and evaluation skills, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex and sensitive problems.
* Knowledge and understanding of contemporary quality and risk management principles and
* ability to provide a high level of customer service.
* Current "C" or "B" class drivers licence.
* Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety & Health, and how these impact on employment, people management and service delivery.
Position Profile
The Clinical Nurse Manager – Maternity manages the services, operations and resources of the Maternity Unit to effectively respond to WACHS requirements and the needs of the regional population. The position provides clinical leadership, effective management and is responsible for standards of midwifery and neonatal nursing practice including monitoring client/patient care in the area of responsibility to ensure safe, effective and efficient service provision. Provides a multi‐disciplinary approach to women, newborns and families care and provision of services to internal and external customers within the region.
