Sydney, Inner West (Concord)
Flexible hours, 1-2 days per week
If you would like to be a part of rapidly growing, vibrant clinic offering assessment and treatment across age groups (with a specific focus on child and youth mental health) then we would love to welcome you as a Contracting Psychologist.
About PsychExchange
PsychExchange is a small, modern psychology clinic based in Concord, in Sydney’s Inner West. Close to cafés and restaurants in Concord village, we provide assessment and treatment for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families dealing with a range of mental health needs. At PsychExchange, we place an emphasis on evidence-based treatment approaches known to improve psychological wellbeing and functional outcomes (e.g., CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, DBT, Narrative Therapy etc). Our practice currently includes 1 Clinical Psychologist, 2 Registered Psychologists and reception support. We are an inclusive and progressive work place that values a non-judgemental approach and embraces individual diversity.
About the Role
We are looking for a psychologist with experience and an interest in working with young people (children and adolescents), their families and schools. This role will involve delivering evidence-based assessment/ treatment for children and young people presenting with a range of psychological needs (e.g, anxiety, low mood, neurodivergence, disordered eating, gender and identity, school refusal, self-esteem, body image and social dysfunction). We value clinicians with experience/willingness to provide parenting support as well as liaising with local schools and GP’s to enhance client outcomes. We also offer group-based interventions targeting child anxiety, social skills and emotional regulation techniques. There is opportunity to facilitate the running of these treatment programs.
While not essential, it would be a benefit if the candidate has experience in delivering neuropsychometric assessments and writing reports for the purpose of assessment and diagnosis (e.g., IQ testing, neurodivergence, giftedness, learning difficulties etc). In addition to working with children/youth, a willingness to also see adult populations (where there is a need) is a benefit. Regular supervision is available from our clinical psychologist and clinic director, Dr Cristina Cacciotti Saija.
This role is ideal for a clinician who has part-time availability and/or is looking for a private practice role that would compliment their other employment (e.g., School counsellor, NSW area health psychologist etc) due to flexible hours including daytime and/or afternoons.
