Shipper / Receiver.
Position Summary
Ship and receive goods, control, maintain and log incoming documentation into the computer system. Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks. Prepare job bins and move material as needed. The schedule includes an afternoon shift from Monday to Thursday, with weekends required as needed, along with overtime hours and pay.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will require:
Knowledgeable about raw materials/products and quality control measurements preferred
Move material manually or by using material handling equipment such as a forklift, side lift forklift or pallet cart
Sustain Quarantine area organization. Stage accepted goods appropriately.
Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances when required.
Unpack, visually inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, reject damaged goods and transfer P.O # to material/package
Collect packing slips, maintain records, and inspection sheets to submit to the receiving inspector and complete paperwork as required
Maintain internal manual and/or computerized record-keeping systems
Maintain Inventory Tags.
Assist Quality Control Inspector with measurements as needed
Code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
Develop an understanding of systems & fittings to ensure that items collected & delivered are correct and consistent with documentation such as packing slips, delivery notes, bills of lading.
Prioritize and schedule responsibilities
Determine method of shipment
Assemble containers and crates, record contents, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
Provide shipping dimensions and weights to Logistics dept.
Assist in organizing, maintaining, and recording inventory of fittings, assemblies and other equipment and spare parts in the yard.
Flexibility to change based on requests from Production Supervisor and operational demands.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Ability to follow safe work practices and positively influence safety conscious culture.
Prior experience with power hand tools is an asset
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day
Ability to work in all outdoor conditions
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills Applicable to the Task
Knowledgeable about raw materials/products and quality control measurements preferred
Previous experience in a metal manufacturing environment is an asset
Previous forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
Ability to use hand/power tools and accurately use a tape measure
Create and build crates/pallets from start to finish
Good communication skills with the ability to take direction
Computer knowledge/experience preferred
Languages:
Speak English, Read English, Write English
Training & Education
3 to 5 years of experience
