ABOUT THE ROLE
As a branch Hire Controller, you'll manage the end-to-end equipment rental process for our Geelong branch in the Southern Region, coordinating with internal teams, logistics providers, and customers to make every rental experience seamless. You'll handle everything from creating hire contracts and scheduling transport to contract closure and customer charges in a hand on role.
Your strong communication and organisational skills will shine as you ensure high customer satisfaction and accurate documentation across every stage of the rental lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Act as the primary contact for customers, preparing hire quotations and following up to support business growth.
* Coordinate logistics and scheduling for on/off hire activities, inspections, and equipment readiness.
* Optimise equipment usage and drive revenue through efficient branch sharing and smart asset allocation.
* Stay proactively connected to key clients and ensure satisfaction to encourage repeat hires and referrals.
* Maintain accurate records and process invoices for rentals, fuel, cleaning, and damage charges.
* Review and issue damage invoices and assist customers with related queries.
* Manage cash hire contracts, payments, and final close-out processes.
* Liaise closely with maintenance teams, BDMs, and the regional manager to prioritise opportunities and meet rental goals.
* Support onboarding requirements through customer portals and participate in staff training and team meetings.
* Conduct outbound customer calls to re-establish customer contact, initiate sales leads, and investigate opportunities for the company to provide rental services.
* Be responsible for the branch presentation and facility standards.
* Participate in weekly branch performance meetings with the regional manager.
* Be hands on in the rental yard during times of surge.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience in equipment hire, logistics, or a related industry.
* Excellent customer service and administrative skills.
* Prepared to be fully hands on during busy times within the yard operation
* Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
* Solid computer literacy (Microsoft Office and ERP systems).
* A proactive, positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
* Full working rights in Australia and a valid driver's license.
