The Opportunity
The Post-Doctoral Fellow (Level A) is expected to contribute towards the research effort of UNSW and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to their particular field of research. The role reports to Prof Bing-Jie (Bruce) Ni and has no direct reports.
- Salary, Level A - $91,381 - $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Fixed-term contract for 3 years
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills & Experience
- A PhD in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Committed to staying up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Accountabilities
- Contribute independently or as a member of a team to team-oriented research and enhance the quality of outcomes in the discipline.
- Conduct research and enable teams to create scholarly output recognised by peers.
- Undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to development of research activities.
- Support dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels.
- Undertake discipline-appropriate research activities (e.g., surveys, literature reviews, data gathering, recording results).
- Present at conferences/workshops relevant to the project as required.
- Assist with supervision of research students where required.
- Develop novel tools and techniques to advance smart and sustainable water technologies.
