Role Purpose
This entry-level Graduate Engineer role is designed as a 12‑month learning and development position. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced construction and project professionals while gaining hands-on industry experience. On successful completion, the role provides a clear pathway into a Site Engineer or Junior Project Manager position, with all training and mentoring provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Site Engineers and Project Managers with day-to-day project delivery tasks
* Support construction activities through planning, coordination, and documentation
* Help monitor project progress, quality, and safety compliance on site
* Assist with subcontractor coordination and communication
* Participate in cost tracking, scheduling, and reporting activities
* Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintain accurate project records and site documentation
* Actively engage in structured training, mentoring, and professional development activities
Learning & Development
* On-the-job training across site engineering and project management functions
* Direct mentoring from senior construction and engineering professionals
* Exposure to real construction projects and site operations
* Career development planning aimed at progression into:
o Site Engineer, or
o Junior Project Manager
Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Construction, or related discipline)
* Strong willingness to learn and develop practical engineering skills
* Good communication and teamwork abilities
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work on construction sites and in office environments
* Valid driver's licence (or working towards one)
Desirable:
* Previous site experience through vacation work, placements, or internships
