Job Summary
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to drive operational efficiency and strategic procurement across our manufacturing value chain.
This key role will oversee all aspects of category and contract management, from developing and implementing procurement strategies to negotiating supplier agreements that deliver cost and operational benefits.
Key Responsibilities
* Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies for Maintenance and Production Services, managing high spend categories such as facility maintenance, shutdown services, engineering, HSE, and water treatment.
* Business Partnering and Effective Communication: Work closely with operations, production, and engineering teams to align procurement strategies with service requirements.
* Procurement and Sourcing: Manage the procurement lifecycle, including RFQs, tenders, and supplier negotiations, ensuring cost-effective and reliable service delivery.
* Supplier Management: Cultivate key supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
* Cost and Efficiency Optimisation: Identify cost-saving opportunities and analyse spend data to drive efficiency improvements.
* Risk Mitigation: Ensure supplier reliability and develop contingency plans to minimise disruptions and maintain business continuity.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous experience in Engineering or Manufacturing industries, with a strong understanding of operational environments.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage complex, multi-stakeholder challenges.
* Solid commercial/procurement expertise gained in industry.
* Proficiency in document, legal, and contract management, particularly with supply agreements.
* Comprehensive understanding of policy and governance requirements related to procurement and contract activities.
* Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation skills to deliver cost and operational benefits.
