Dynamic ophthalmic practice seeking full-time or part-time (minimum 30hrs/week) ophthalmic assistant or medical practice assistant.
We are a busy specialist medical practice with 2 locations in Figtree and Corrimal.
The ophthalmic assistant position involves measuring vision, taking images using sophisticated equipment (training provided), talking to patients, helping patients who have mobility problems, sterilising, assisting the ophthalmic surgeon with minor procedures.
The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure.
This position would suit someone looking for a career in ophthalmic assisting looking to work in a busy ophthalmic practice.
There are about 15 other staff members, most of whom have been with us for many years.
No experience is required as training will be provided. Those with some experience in nursing or caring will be given preference.
The position requires minimum HSC or equivalent. Working hours will be rostered between 7.30am-7pm Monday-Friday (no weekends).
Wage is according to Health Professional and Support Services Award/experience/qualifications (junior rate will be applicable to those under 21 years of age).
