Position Details
The purpose of this position is to support our Social Sciences faculty in the Senior School, teaching English, Humanities, Christian Education and Religion and Ethics. This position reports directly to the Dean of Faculty, Director of Studies, Head of Senior School and ultimately to the Principal. The successful applicant must:
Have current QCT Registration
Meet the requirements of the QCT and AITSL Standards
Experience teaching English and Social Sciences in a Senior School setting

Understanding of Christian Education philosophy and ability to translate it into practice
Strong inter-relational skills and ability to motivate and inspire students
Current educational trends awareness
Ability to plan and evaluate a sequential teaching program
Classroom management through varied strategies and referrals to Learning Support as needed
Maintain assessment records and reporting to parents
Engage in Professional Learning Teams and Peer Coaching
Commitment to ongoing personal growth and IT proficiency
Familiarity with College policies including Work Health & Safety and Child Protection
Duties And Responsibilities
Classroom Management
Be responsible for the education, care and discipline of the children within each allocated class
Plan, program and teach the school curriculum to the appropriate standards for each year level
Maintain an orderly, well-presented and inviting learning environment
Pastoral Care
Be responsible for the nurture of the children within each allocated class
Pedagogy
Implement the school's Christian philosophy in the classroom and school life
Maintain a high standard of work, with ongoing evaluation and correction of student work
Maintain accurate assessment records and support reporting to parents
Carry out student assessment and reporting procedures per College requirements
Engage in Professional Learning and Peer Coaching
Development – Professional
Contribute to spiritual growth of the Emmanuel community
Comply with College policies and professional standards
Engage in ongoing personal development, including IT
Co-Curricular Involvement
Contribute to co-curricular programs including sport coaching as required
Participate in camps, excursions and events
Attend in-service courses and out-of-hours events as required
Other Responsibilities
Attend staff devotions, worship and chapel services
Attend staff meetings and parent-teacher meetings
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies
Perform other duties as directed
