Full Time minimum 38 hours per week
Salary:
$78,000 + super
Experience required:
AQF Certificate III in Carpentry including at least two years employment experience or minimum 3 years employment experience may substitute for qualification;
Job Tasks and Duties:
Alliance Building Group is seeking a skilled, reliable Qualified Carpenter to join our team in Canberra. You'll work on a range of commercial and residential projects, contributing to quality builds and collaborating with a supportive crew. We use Procore construction management software to streamline project delivery
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete carpentry work across commercial, residential, and government sites
* Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction drawings
* Install, repair, and maintain timber framing, doors, windows, floors, and fixtures
* Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
* Coordinate onsite tasks and communicate clearly with site managers and foremen
* Maintain a safe and tidy worksite in line with company and WHS standards
* Use Procore to access documents, track tasks, and record progress
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers as required
* Provide input on buildability, material choices, and quality standards
* Participate in regular toolbox meetings and daily site catch‑ups
* Build scaffolding and ladders for construction work where necessary
* Ensure the positioning and alignment of structures using spirit level, rues, and surveying equipment
* Manufacture structures as per Plans and as directed
* Operate power tools and hand tools
Requirements:
* Carpentry trade qualification and relevant licences
* Proven experience as a carpenter on Australian construction sites
* Ability to read and understand construction drawings
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Knowledge of workplace safety requirements
* Experience using Procore (preferred but not essential – training provided)
* Reliable, motivated, and team‑oriented attitude
