Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Casual Laboratory Assistant to join our Shepparton environmental lab. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting field sampling activities, ensuring accurate sample receipt and testing, and helping deliver timely, high-quality results in line with SGS's EHS service and quality standards.
What you will do:
* Conduct field sampling to meet client requirements.
* Perform analyses according to SGSmethods and procedures.
* Support the Sample Reception & Chemistry team.
* Carry out QC checks, instrument calibrations, and take appropriate action.
* Record all data in a clear and accurate manner.
* Represent SGSon-site and during client visits.
* Provide sample pick-up and drop-off services for key clients.
* Prepare sample bottles and assist with sample receipt at the Shepparton site.
* Ensure analysis and data are completed by due dates, working collaboratively with the Shepparton team.
* Perform risk assessments and internal audits as required.
Qualifications
What will you bring:
* Previous laboratory experience (desirable).
* Knowledge of measurement and testing techniques related to environmental field sampling.
* Ability to understand technical issues and provide feedback.
* Basic report writing skills.
* Valid Victorian full driver's license.
