Job Description
Fremantle College seeks an experienced Education Assistant - Lead to join our team. This permanent full-time position commences Term 3, 2025.
The role involves leading, mentoring, coaching and modeling effective practices for other Education Assistants. Key responsibilities include coordinating processes to ensure adequate relief staff, workforce inductions, and relevant training are provided. The successful applicant will be confident in addressing large groups of educators and possess excellent interpersonal skills to develop a strong rapport with students, staff, families, and therapists.
Advocacy as part of an effective team is crucial in promoting success for all students. Under limited guidance, you will coordinate support for the effective implementation of therapy and education programs, both at school and offsite. Liaising with stakeholders ensures consistent delivery of programs across the school.
A commitment to the school's vision, values, and priorities is essential. Knowledge and understanding of the impact of disability, particularly in leading learning of colleagues, is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Effective knowledge and understanding of delivering education programs and/or behaviour management plans;
* Ability to identify problems and assist teachers and other Education Assistants in developing strategies and solutions;
* Well-developed oral communication and interpersonal skills to lead, mentor, coach, induct and train other Education Assistants and professional teams;
* Well-developed written communication skills, including report writing, to coordinate, collect, and present student data at a whole-school community level;
* Well-developed organisational skills to coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in the delivery of effective education programs.
