About the Role
">Culturally Safe Indigenous Engagement Specialist
This is an exciting opportunity for a culturally sensitive and experienced Indigenous Specialist to join our Transport & Infrastructure team. You will play a critical role in fostering meaningful relationships between Aboriginal communities, stakeholders, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice to clients, contractors, and internal teams on Aboriginal participation, maximising opportunities for economic and social development in Indigenous communities
* Produce culturally safe materials and deliver advice consistent with government policies and directions related to Aboriginal culture and heritage
* Establish and nurture strong relationships with key Aboriginal clients and organisations, enhancing the value proposition of our services
* Support connection to country initiatives in project delivery including facilitation of consultation with Aboriginal clan groups
About You
You will ideally bring a strong background in Aboriginal engagement and consultation, with proven experience in infrastructure or similar sectors. Your deep knowledge of Aboriginal culture and heritage will enable you to work with Aboriginal communities in a respectful, empowering manner. Strong leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to manage teams and develop meaningful relationships with clients, contractors, and key Aboriginal stakeholders.
A strong understanding of project delivery expertise and project management principles would be beneficial. Excellent communication skills are required to create culturally safe materials and provide expert advice.
