Are you an experienced property and contracts professional ready to take the next step in your career? The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Property and Contracts Officer to lead our Property and Procurement services team.
About the Role
- Oversee the management and administration of Shire-owned and managed properties, including leases, licences, sales, and land swaps.
- Lead the delivery of procurement, contract formation and management functions, ensuring efficiency, legislative compliance, and a strong customer focus.
- Provide expert advice on property, land and legal issues to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Implement the Shire's Land Asset Optimisation Plan (LAOP) and prepare reports and briefings to Council.
- Review and enact local laws, investigate compliance issues, and prepare complex legal and property reports.
- Lead and mentor a small team, fostering collaboration, development, and excellence.
About You
We are looking for someone who can balance technical expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement. To be successful, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Law and/or at least 3 years' leadership experience in property management or a legal-related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in property transactions, leasing, and contract management.
- Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
- Proven experience leading teams, managing performance, and supporting professional development.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
