Job Description
The role of Technical Field Advisor (TFA) is a key position in the field services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site activities, including planning, organizing, and monitoring resources to complete work scopes according to contractual requirements.
This individual will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of great complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning at customer power generating facilities. The TFA will also be responsible for the installation and maintenance of gas turbines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and perform site activities, including HD Gas Turbine installation and maintenance.
* Coordinate the management of labor, tools, and technical assistants as required to complete the work scope.
* Make decisions and apply concepts to issues of great complexity to resolve problems quickly.
* Perform administrative functions, such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, and preparing job status reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Essential Qualifications:
* A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position.
* 5+ years of experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position.
* Solid understanding of gas turbine operation and controlling parameters.
* Strong technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, dial and laser alignment, and thermal growth equipment.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience with Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment.
* Extensive field engineering services experience.
* Pipe fitting and tubing experience.
* Previous experience working on GE LM equipment.
