Ngurratjuta Wanka Willuratjta/Alturla Rinya Aboriginal Corporation was incorporated in 2023 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation (NPNAC). NPNAC was incorporated in August 1985 under the Aboriginal Incorporations Act 1976 (Cth) before transitioning under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth). NPNAC began as an association of communities deemed to have been affected by the oil and gas mining operations at Mereenie and Palm Valley. NPNAC provided a growing income base for the Member Communities, stimulating job opportunities and venture activities for members, while actively supporting community development activities and infrastructure improvements in Member Communities. Across its 40 year history, Ngurratjuta has developed a portfolio of diverse investments and operated enterprises in a variety of industries, including accounting and business services, tourism and hospitality and retail. NPNAC's core objective of supporting communities flows through to objectives of NWWAR being the delivery of high quality services and support for communities in transitioning services from government-designed and delivered to community-controlled and governed
SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the CEO, the GM (Service Delivery) will be responsible for the management of the programs being delivered in the remote communities we serve. The core area of expertise will be program delivery and contract fulfilment in remote Aboriginal communities. Strong partnerships with the Operations Department and the GM (Policy) will be integral to role success.
LOCATION: Alice Springs, with travel to remote communities as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Represent Ngurratjuta's best interests with relevant stakeholders and the wider community in the following areas: RAES, Remote Family and Children Centres, Justice Reinvestment, Junior Ranger, Kungka Rangers and any other program that may be added to the portfolio through the advancement of the LDM (Local Decision Making) agreement with the NTG and NIAA.
* Ensure that all business / operational or reputational risks are properly assessed with financial or legal risks being reported to the CEO with urgency
* Responsibility to oversee delivery of the programs in conjunction with the day-to-day management by the Program Managers under direction of the CEO
* Retain responsibility for contract compliance and delivery.
* Retain responsibility for resource planning and allocation.
* Development and implementation of approved service delivery methods, systems and continual improvement mechanisms.
* Propose community-based projects/initiatives to achieve strategic and operational goals within Program parameters.
* Coordination and administration of Community based committees and/or reference groups.
* Assist with preparation and adherence to an annual budget for each program.
* Retain overall responsibility for staff management, in conjunction with respective Program Managers
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Demonstrated experience in working effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and organisations.
* Experience managing the delivery of multiple programs in remote Aboriginal communities. Expertise in Employment Services is especially valued.
