Procurement Officer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to provide support in procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics for allocated projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting progress of activities required for timely issue of enquiries, tender evaluation, and award of purchase orders.
They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to secure optimum prices and deliveries for equipment meeting project technical, schedule, and commercial requirements.
The role also involves carrying out commercial analysis and evaluation of quotations to enable correct supplier choice, as well as developing and maintaining an effective vendor data system on a company-wide and project-specific basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely issue of enquiries, tender evaluation, and award of purchase orders.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to secure optimum prices and deliveries for equipment meeting project requirements.
* Carry out commercial analysis and evaluation of quotations to enable correct supplier choice.
* Develop and maintain an effective vendor data system on a company-wide and project-specific basis.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Recent graduate or circa 2 years' experience in procurement, expediting, and/or logistics disciplines, ideally within engineering or construction industries.
* Qualifications in a Procurement discipline preferred but not essential.
* High-level negotiating and problem-solving skills.
* Driven and determined to achieve objectives through continued professional development.
* Strong computer skills with well-developed knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to navigate various computerised systems.
* High attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, and demonstrated experience in following issues through from identification to resolution.
* Well-developed communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with numerous stakeholders.
* A self-starter who can readily adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work within a team and willingness to assist as required.
