Responsibilities
* Oversees and assures the overall compliance of Microsoft's Energy Isolation Program and establishes acceptance criteria for authorizing campus Energy Isolation Plans.
* Implements learnings, provides consistency, and drives rigor into Microsoft's Energy Isolation program to ensure it meets or exceeds company safety policy requirements.
* Utilizes local code and standards as the foundation for Microsoft's Energy Isolation program implemented throughout the campus.
* Establishes a centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure with the Engineering team for all campus entities and determines if group or individual LOTO procedures are required.
* Coordinates energy isolation activities with ongoing updates and liaises with the Microsoft construction team to manage potential impacts on data center core operations.
* Acts as a subject matter expert in energy isolation incident investigations within area of responsibility, working in coordination with the Engineering team.
* Participates in high-risk activity (HRA) planning meetings related to energy isolation.
* Ensures review of high-risk SOWs, SOPs, and MOPs, and verifies all sources of energy are identified.
* Establishes a process to verify personnel qualifications, training, and PPE for those performing energy isolation work.
* Generates monthly reports on activities and the overall status of the energy isolation program.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* 6+ years of technical engineering experience, OR
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience, OR
* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year of technical engineering experience.
Background Check Requirements:
* Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check, Citizenship Verification (Australian Citizenship required), and possibly NV1/2, PV Clearance Assessment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 5+ years of technical engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
* Experience in critical environment standards, industry practices, and complex electrical systems.
* Ability to communicate complex technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences.
* Experience interpreting technical drawings and ensuring compliance of LOTO systems.
* Knowledge of hazardous energy control, building MEP systems, electrical theory, and construction documentation.
* Practical experience with building management systems, automation, and controls.
