Salary Range: $80,000 to $90,000
Reporting To: Head Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm in the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia. You'll play a vital part in keeping our marine fleet, plant and mobile machinery, power generation systems, and site services operating smoothly.
This hands-on role is essential to ensuring the safe and efficient running of our vessels, equipment, and infrastructure in a remote setting. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a wide range of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel engines and systems across our marine fleet, plant, and machinery.
* Diagnose faults using tools, service manuals, and technical drawings.
* Conduct routine and preventative maintenance to maximise reliability and safety.
* Operate and maintain diesel generators, solar farms and power station systems.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
* Keep accurate service logs and maintenance records.
* Collaborate with contractors for outsourced projects.
* Engage suppliers to procure spare parts and equipment.
What We're Looking For
* Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (Skill Level 3)
* AQF Certificate IV or
* AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training.
* Solid experience with diesel engines, plant, and machinery repairs.
* Competence with diagnostic and fault-finding tools.
* Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and preventative maintenance.
* Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Desirable
* Experience with marine vessels and marine diesel engines.
* Exposure to power generation or remote power stations.
* Familiarity with marine/industrial electrical systems.
* Experience in maritime or remote operations.
