Holmesglen's Plumbing and Mechanical Services Department is a purpose‐built training hub delivering pre‐apprenticeship, apprenticeship, and post‐trade programs. With state‐of‐the‐art facilities that replicate real job sites, the department provides hands‐on, industry‐focused training and strong employer connections to prepare students for successful careers in plumbing and mechanical services.
The Plumbing Teacher delivers high‐quality vocational education and training through engaging, compliant teaching and assessment aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The role supports learners across the full learning journey, delivers training and assessment for the Certificate IV in Plumbing, develops high‐quality training resources, builds strong industry relationships, and contributes to a collaborative team workplace to achieve positive student outcomes.
As a Teacher, you will
- Deliver engaging, inclusive, and industry‐aligned training and assessment for the Certificate IV in Plumbing using innovative teaching strategies.
- Develop high‐quality learning and assessment resources across a range of programs, delivery modes, and locations.
- Support students throughout their learning journey, including pre‐course advice, assessment, feedback, and tailored learning support.
- Engage with industry and stakeholders to inform training delivery, workplace learning, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance, administration, and skilled currency in line with VET, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
To be successful, you'll have
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40122 or equivalent predecessor or successor qualifications.
- Certificate IV in Plumbing or an equivalent approved qualification, along with current plumbing registration or licences.
- Strong understanding of VET training requirements, including compliance, training packages, and contemporary teaching and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
- Demonstrated flexibility, professionalism, and ethical practice, with a commitment to inclusivity, student wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian 'employee' Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
