This role is an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of efficient and effective therapeutic services within a dynamic youth work setting. As part of the Check-In Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting young people aged 12-25 who are experiencing complex mental health issues.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide mental health OT expertise to support young people with complex mental health and social concerns. This includes developing crucial independent living skills and working towards psychosocial recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver targeted practical interventions with clients to support their short- and long-term goals towards achieving psychosocial recovery, individual independence, and identified vocational activities of interest.
* Build a therapeutic alliance with identified clients and actively engage them in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of their care.
* Deliver specialist programs to individuals or groups.
* Manage a caseload of clients and provide clinical leadership to Grade 2 OT.
* Undertake holistic comprehensive assessments in collaboration with the client using motivational interviewing and self-management approaches.
* Collaborative care planning with clients, carers, and/or families in the context of their health, functional, psychosocial, cultural, environmental, and economic needs.
* Support the development of enhanced care and treatment plans that complement existing plans and promote improved recovery and outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
This role requires occupational therapy qualifications and current AHPRA registration. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years' experience in relevant acute, community, and mental health settings.
