The role:
This newly created role will see you reporting to the Finance Manager and taking full responsibility for key accounting functions while contributing proactively to the financial health of this growing business. You have an innate ability to see money as more than just numbers - translating data into sound, strategic advice. You are tech savvy with a solid work ethic, and at your core place the highest value on personal and professional integrity. You have the resilience to persevere through challenges, the creativity to approach problems from fresh angles, and are consistently accountable, trustworthy and reliable. Responsibilities include:
* Managing two staff members; payroll & accounts payable & receivable
* Managing journal entries, reconciliations, month-end processes and BAS reporting
* End-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
* Prepare accurate accounting for fixed assets and inventory
* Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
* Identify and implement continuous improvements across financial processes
* Financial planning and decision making
* Cost management and budgeting
* Strategic governance
* Auditing
Skills & Qualifications required:
* Qualification in Accounting or demonstratable experience in an accounting role (CPA/CA qualifications desirable)
* Minimum 5+ years of experience as a senior accountant with leadership expertise
* Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices
* Knowledge of business operations
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MYOB
* Understanding of local government and statutory requirements
* Professional communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
* Commitment to continued learning
* Permanent Australian Residency
