Research Scientist Opportunity
We are seeking a Research Scientist to contribute to the Solving Plastic Waste CRC's Research Program on Materials and Design at RMIT University's Bundoora campus.
Job Description:
The primary objective of this project is to improve the production of biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) from renewable resources.
* Develop and implement novel strategies for enhancing PHA production in microbial systems
* Collaborate with research team members to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results
* Contribute to the development of intellectual property related to novel PHA-based materials and processes
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Ph.D. in microbiology, biochemistry, or a related field
* Extensive experience in microbial ecology, DNA sequencing, and bioinformatic analyses
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
