About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cafe Team Leader to join our vibrant cafe at the Wangi Workers Club in Wangi Wangi, NSW located on the beautiful Lake Macquarie. As the Cafe Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy cafe, ensuring exceptional customer service and the delivery of high‐quality food and beverages. This full‐time role (or part‐time if that suits your lifestyle) is an excellent opportunity to further develop your leadership skills and contribute to the ongoing success of our established hospitality business.
What You'll Be Doing
* Manage and lead a team of talented cafe staff.
* Oversee all cafe operations, from food preparation to customer service.
* Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of food and beverages to customers.
* Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary supplies.
* Liaise with the kitchen team to maintain high food quality and presentation standards.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Provide exceptional customer service and handle any customer inquiries or concerns.
* Analyse sales data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
* Assist with the development and implementation of new menu items and specials.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a team leader or supervisory role within a cafe or kitchen environment.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Excellent customer service orientation and problem‐solving abilities.
* Sound knowledge of food preparation, presentation and safety standards.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast‐paced environment.
* Proficient in using point‐of‐sale systems and inventory management software.
* Relevant qualifications in hospitality, food service or a related field are highly desirable.
* A current resident of Australia.
