About the Role
Our organization seeks a skilled and experienced plasterer to undertake various tasks in Sydney.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, be reliable and trustworthy, and possess excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Mixing of plaster to desired consistency
* Application and smoothing of plaster coating using a darby
* Roughening undercoat to provide bond for succeeding coats of plaster
In addition to these core responsibilities, the ideal candidate will also be able to:
* Obtain direction from technical staff and study specifications as well as plan procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times for each phase of construction
* Liaise with management to ensure timely orders and procurement of tools and materials, and subsequently organize delivery at specified times to conform to work schedules
* Coordinate all phases of construction with LAF staff to prevent delays
* Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce by conferring with LAF staff
* Resolving construction problems and improving construction methods through discussions with LAF staff and suppliers
* Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to tested specifications and adherence to construction schedules
* Report progress, materials used, and costs to supervisors and adjust work schedules accordingly
Requirements
* One year certificate from college or technical school; 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Ability to read, write and speak English clearly so as to effectively communicate with others on the project
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
* Ability to effectively communicate before groups of customers or employees of the organization
