The Coordinator Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs position supports the implementation of the Australian Government's national mental health stepped care approach across the Country to Coast QLD (CCQ) footprint from Sunshine Coast to Central Queensland.
Our approach is to shape the commissioning of services based on evidence-informed best practice for all people in a way that responds to individual needs and preferences, spanning early intervention and self-help support, through to complex or more coordinated mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drugs health care. This position will ensure CCQ funded services are person-centred and recovery focused, while also addressing wider prevention or management issues that impact on critical psychosocial and/or clinical demands within the region.
In this role you will be integral to the implementation and design of various program measures across the footprint, collaborating with local, state and national stakeholders, including the facilitation of community and stakeholder engagement, supporting best practice, coordination of program planning and working with providers to enhance capacity and capability.
Key responsibilities
* Under guidance, gather up-to-date information and resources regarding mental health, suicide prevention, alcohol and other drugs and broader social determinants services to support the commissioning and delivery of accessible, relevant services tailored to the needs of consumers
* Manage relationships and program objectives of CCQ commissioned programs including the application of program evaluation and performance management, by reviewing project status reports to assess effectiveness and quality of service provision
* Develop and manage effective, professional relationships and networks with stakeholders, consumers, non-government organisations, government and peak body representatives, as required
* Contribute to reporting processes, ensuring the collection and submission of required data to meet any reporting requirements to the relevant team, contract strategy meetings, external agencies, the Executive, associated committees and others as required
* Build the capacity of the primary health care stakeholders by providing advice and information to a range of stakeholders in relation to the primary health reform process using varied communication of channels
* Support the co-design of programs and projects aligned to CCQ commissioning procedures and processes and informed by priority areas identified in our comprehensive needs assessment
* Draft high quality executive briefs, procurement plans, tender documents and contracts which reflect appropriate procurement arrangements and performance indicators
Key Selection Criteria
* Experience with or knowledge of mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drugs organisations/care pathways across the footprint
* Knowledge of mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drugs strategy and reform
* Demonstrated communication skills using a range of communication approaches, both written and verbal
* Able to adeptly manage stakeholders through change processes; using resources to ensure achievement of business outcomes
* Knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Cultural Safety, and Continuous Improvement principles
