My client is seeking an experienced hands‐on Mechanical Technician to support their high‐performance manufacturing operations located in the Greater Western Sydney Region. This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled technician or Mechanical Engineer with experience in the consumer electronics sector and strong capabilities in maintaining and optimizing advanced production machinery. You will have a primary responsibility for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Murata-brand manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, efficiency, and product quality across the production lines.
Responsibilities
* Equipment Installation & Commissioning
o Install, configure, and commission Murata manufacturing equipment, ensuring proper mechanical, electrical, and control-system integration.
o Validate machine performance during ramp-up and assist in qualification activities.
* Maintenance & Troubleshooting
o Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on Murata machinery and other production equipment.
o Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system faults.
o Minimize downtime by responding quickly to machinery breakdowns and implementing effective corrective actions.
* Production Support & Optimization
o Monitor machine performance and implement improvements to increase productivity, reliability, and yield.
o Collaborate with engineering teams on modifications, upgrades, and process enhancements.
o Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts usage.
* Quality & Compliance
o Ensure machinery meets company quality standards and aligns with regulatory and safety requirements.
o Support root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation for process or equipment-related quality issues.
Skills & Experience
* Required
o Demonstrated hands-on experience as a Mechanical Technician in manufacturing, electronics, or consumer electronics production environments.
o Strong experience with Murata-brand machinery (Or similar), including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
o Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
o Knowledge of mechanical systems (motors, bearings, actuators), electrical systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and safety interlocks.
o Competence with technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals.
o Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to equipment reliability.
* Preferred
o Experience in supercapacitor, battery, semiconductor, or related high‐precision manufacturing.
o Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen, TPM).
o Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III/IV in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or similar).
