 
        
        Primary School Physical Education Teacher
This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position commencing Term 1 with possible extension and/or permanency.
Riverton Primary School caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in an Independent Public-School setting. We foster a welcoming and inclusive community where students work collaboratively in a rich learning environment to achieve their academic, social, and emotional potential.
The successful applicant will deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate Physical Education lessons from Year 1 to Year 6. A key focus of this role is the explicit teaching of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) particularly in the junior years, to build strong foundations for lifelong physical activity and improved student outcomes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of FMS and be committed to fostering physical literacy through evidence-based teaching practices. This role requires alignment with the Department of Education's Quality Teaching Strategy and Teaching for Impact Framework ensuring all students are supported to achieve their full potential.
Strong organisational skills are essential for planning coordinating and delivering school-wide sporting programs including whole-school events interschool competitions and excursions.
