Key Responsibilities:
* Provide assistance to residents with their hygiene needs including bathing, dental hygiene, dressing, grooming and personal care.
* Support the maintenance or restoration of residents' independence by providing assistance to engage in activities of interest and use mobility aids where required.
* Complete accurate and timely documentation and report information to relevant Nursing Departments and Management as required.
* Maintain effective communication in the workplace, being respectful, open to change and kind in your approach.
* Assist residents with the administration of correct medication in accordance with policies.
To be successful in the role, you will require the following:
* Certificate III in Aged Care, Community Care or Individual Support (Aged Care) or Evidence of first year Nursing completion will be considered.
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Current NDIS worker screening check
* An understanding of aging and dementia
* Awareness of AN-ACC (desirable)
* Experience working within a person centered, enabling environment
* A current valid Driver's License recognized in Australia - your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
* Experience as a Care Worker with a passion for Community Care and supporting vulnerable people
* Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of the English language both verbally and written
* Capable and proficient at working alone in client homes to provide personal care, medication assistance, social support, respite care, shopping support, transport assistance, meal preparation, home-exercise programs and domestic assistance
* Able to work with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the physical and emotional needs of clients are met
* Adept at building relationships with clients & their families and working together to ensure values, independence & positivity are the heart of your visit
* Skilled at genuine empathetic support during difficult times for clients and their families
* Capacity to be adaptable & flexible
* Police Clearance & Working with Children clearance required.
