We are looking for a Senior IT Operations Engineer with a hands-on focus on IT operations and DevOps to join our talented team. This role will play a crucial part in designing, developing, and supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with industry standards.
What you will bring
Proven experience in Level 3 IT Operations support, Windows Operating System, Azure DevOps, Automation with experience in PowerShell or Terraform, MS SQL and .NET experience is desirable.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (including Azure Repos, CI / CD pipelines) to automate deployment and integration processes.
Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Native Cloud, including the design and management of microservices architectures.
A solid DevSecOps mindset, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices integrated into the development lifecycle. The ability to apply DevSecOps best practices to ensure secure code, infrastructure, and continuous delivery pipelines.
Strong understanding of IT support through ITIL processes focusing on Problem and Change Management.
Proven experience in Windows Operating System Support, IIS hosting, and Linux Operating Systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Assist our L2 support team and our application support team through mentoring and alignment with industry best practices.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, or ITIL are a plus.
Optional but highly desirable : Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting and Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of Azure cloud resources.
Experience in the financial services industry is an advantage but not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Azure DevOps : Design, implement, and manage Azure-based DevOps pipelines and processes for efficient deployment, integration, and testing.
Day-to-Day IT Support : Provide hands-on technical support to the organization, addressing hardware, software, and networking issues, and ensuring minimal downtime.
IT Cost Optimisation : Develop strategies to optimize IT costs through automation, cloud services, and best practices. Provide regular inputs for reports on cost management and savings.
Compliance and Security : Ensure that all IT operations comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices for security and data protection.
Automation and Scalability : Identify opportunities for automation and scalability in IT operations, using tools such as Azure Automation and other cloud-native technologies.
Windows Operating Systems : Identify opportunities for improvement in our desktop and server fleet including hosting and IIS.
Linux Operating Systems : Identify opportunities within the business where Linux Server can be utilized feeding into Cost Optimisation and End User Experience.
