Intake, Assessment and Referral Worker

Full Time – 38 Hours Per Week | Ongoing

About the Role

Reporting to the SEWB Team Leader, the Intake, Assessment and Referral Worker will provide culturally safe and responsive intake and assessment services to clients presenting with Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) needs.

This role is essential in ensuring timely access to appropriate supports—whether within Rumbalara or through external providers—and in delivering coordinated, person-centred care that respects cultural identity and individual circumstances.

About You - Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

* Certificate IV in AOD, Mental Health, or equivalent qualification.
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities, particularly in AOD and/or mental health settings.
* Understanding of social, cultural, and historical factors affecting Aboriginal peoples.
* Ability to engage respectfully with Aboriginal individuals and families.
* Skilled in handling confidential and sensitive information.
* Experience in intake and assessment within community-based services.
* Knowledge of harm reduction and culturally appropriate interventions.
* Ability to identify and respond to risk, with sound duty of care and reporting practices.
